Electrical Project Manager  

Commercial & Industrial Electrical Construction | Central New Jersey

A well-established and expanding non-union electrical contractor in Central New Jersey is adding an experienced Electrical Project Manager to its team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys having ownership of their projects, working closely with field personnel and customers, and seeing a project through from the initial estimate/kickoff to final completion.

The company has a strong backlog of commercial, warehouse, and light industrial projects throughout New Jersey and offers a stable environment with opportunities for long-term growth.

As Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and financial performance of multiple electrical construction projects, typically ranging from $100K to $3M+.  Projects throughout Central & Northern New Jersey - Local Travel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage commercial and industrial electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, customers, GCs, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, billing, and project documentation
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, schedules, and overall profitability
  • Review of drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Identify potential issues early and develop practical solutions
  • Conduct project meetings and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines

 

Ideal Background

  • ~5+ years of electrical construction project management experience
  • Experience working for a commercial or industrial electrical contractor
  • Non-union electrical construction experience strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of electrical construction, project financials, and scheduling
  • Experience managing projects in the $100K–$3M+ range
  • Comfortable working directly with field teams, general contractors, and customers
  • Knowledge of NJ commercial construction practices
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar software
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take ownership and make decisions without constant oversight
