About this Opportunity:

The Production Manager is responsible for managing employee assignments, machine usage, and the production process. The production manager ensures employees meet the productivity and efficiency standards of the organization.

The Production Manager is responsible for implementing production schedules and plans and directing production activities. Also accountable for results related to costs, methods, on-time production, critical KPIs and personnel.


Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departmental supervisors.
  • Leads and motivates subordinates to fulfill schedules, improve processes, control costs, and deliver quality work.
  • Reviews usage and makes recommendation regarding costs, materials, and efficiencies of manufacturing production.
  • Reviews logs, datasheets, and reports to assess production.
  • Identifies process abnormalities or inefficiencies then addresses those problems by determining and implementing appropriate changes.
  • Submits periodic production reports to the Plant Manager or other appropriate staff.
  • Ensures employee compliance with plant safety, environmental, and operational standards and regulations.
  • Along with other departments, implements new production processes and required equipment.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Train, coach and supervise employees to attain optimum performance considering every employee.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP Systems.
  • Suitable time management and organizational skills, and able to work independently.
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence and achieving production goals.
  • At least five years of related experience required, preferably in a manufacturing/sheet metal environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Lean Six Sigma training and certification is a plus.
  • Bi- lingual (Spanish speaking)


Knowledge / Skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Effective analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive experience managing high-mix, high-volume sheet-metal and electro-mechanical assembly operations in an automated, flow-based manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to frequently walk through the manufacturing facility, actively engaging with all employees.
  • Lifting of 15lbs, sitting and standing for periods of time
