Position Description

The Planner at NPSG Global will provide clerical support for planning and scheduling production orders. The Planner at NPSG Global works in a collaborative, supportive, and fast-moving manufacturing environment where safety and quality are of the highest priority. 



Responsibilities:

  • Clerical support for planning and scheduling of production orders within the MIE Trak MRP system. 
  • Create Sales Orders, Work Orders, Pick Lists, Packing Lists, Invoices, Purchase Orders, & Routers. 
  • Update work orders and material requirements as directed by customer change orders. 
  • Read drawings and models for material callouts & dimensions of material needed, add to quote template. 
  • Audit drawings and notify engineering redlines in need of correction. 
  • Use PDM, Solid Works, E-Drawings & Step Files for dimensions of specific parts. 
  • Add drawings and models to PDM when the PO is received.  
  • Gather pertinent information (weight, dimension, size of truck) for shipments for Fab Shops.  
  • Submit requests for shipment trucks to logistics.  
  • Arrand time for pickups, truck size, truck type, and delivery time.  
  • Handle all FedEx shipments externally and internally.  
  • Assist with coordinating activities with supply chain, Manufacturing, Sales, and Engineering departments. 
  • Assist with inventory planning and reducing inventory waste. 
  • Audit incoming material for proper routing and consumption. 
  • Generate and review MRP reports for production. 
  • Maintain the 7S method in the department.  
  • Obeying all company, OSHA, and other state and federal agencies' safety regulations. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Possess basic math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

  • Flexible and adaptable to new tasks/duties.  
  • Ability to work 40-50+ hour work weeks dependent on customer/production needs.  


Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • 2+ years of planning experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.  
  • Experience/knowledge of quoting and shipping logistics preferred.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products. 
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing, demanding, fast-paced environment. 
  • Great written & verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines in specified time constraints. 


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Manufacturing environment with intermittent noise and long periods of standing in a warehouse-type physical space, with exposure to noise and dust in hot and cold climates. 
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, and kneel. 
  • Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and normal hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids). 
  • Must have good hand and eye coordination. 
  • Must wear steel-toed shoes.
