POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations for multiple AE locations, ensuring production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role provides both strategic and hands-on leadership to supervisors and production teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Success in this role requires strong people leadership, strategic thinking, and deep practical experience managing multi-site and international manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership:
  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are met.
  • Optimize resource utilization, including labor, equipment, and materials.

Quality & Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control processes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Team Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop manufacturing supervisors and staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration.

Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on production strategies and capacity planning.
  • Support new product introductions and scaling of operations.

Safety & Environment:
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a safe working environment through training and audits.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Based in Vancouver, WA and requires regular onsite presence.
  • Requires international travel to Germany 4 to 6 times per year, for 1 to 2 weeks stays.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and production planning tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).

Desired:
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment, electronics, or optical devices.
  • Familiarity with metrology and calibration methodology.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (Master's preferred).

COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $145,000 to $180,000 per year.
