Manufacturing Operations Manager – Precision CNC Machining

Lead Operations. Improve Performance. Build a World-Class Manufacturing Team.

Are you a manufacturing leader who thrives on improving operations, developing people, and driving measurable results?

We're looking for an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead production in our growing precision CNC machining facility. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for maximizing production efficiency, improving machine utilization, increasing throughput, and ensuring exceptional quality and on-time delivery.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges, implementing Lean initiatives, and building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

As our Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will:

  • Lead all day-to-day manufacturing operations in a high-precision CNC machining environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing throughput, improving machine utilization, reducing downtime, and eliminating waste.
  • Develop production strategies that maximize capacity while meeting customer delivery commitments.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor supervisors, leads, machinists, CNC programmers, and production personnel.
  • Monitor key manufacturing KPIs including on-time delivery (OTD), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), labor efficiency, scrap, machine utilization, and production throughput.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements that increase productivity and profitability.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Customer Service to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer requirements, and workplace safety standards.
  • Oversee hiring, training, employee development, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in precision CNC machining or metal manufacturing.
  • Proven success leading manufacturing operations and improving production performance.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, machining processes, inspection, and production planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve efficiency, increase machine utilization, reduce scrap, and improve on-time delivery.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, ERP/MRP systems, and manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace, defense, or medical manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with APQP, PFMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, and CAPA.
  • Nadcap or customer audit experience.
  • Experience with capacity planning, production scheduling, and operational planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
