Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
As Operations Manager, you will provide managerial presence and operational leadership within the Manufacturing team at the Fort Payne facility. Your day will be focused on leading a team of professional-level employees, overseeing the efficient execution of manufacturing processes for stator components, and ensuring adherence to critical quality, safety, and operational standards. You will supervise team performance, provide regular feedback, support employee development, and manage day-to-day operational targets and team objectives. In collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, and other cross-functional teams, you will drive process improvement initiatives, resolve production challenges, and help ensure production goals are achieved while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety excellence.

  • Supervise a team of professional-level employees, setting individual and team goals to achieve operational results.
  • Manage team performance, provide regular feedback, and support career development for direct reports.
  • Ensure all team members understand and adhere to company policies, practices, and safety procedures.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment to drive engagement and productivity.
  • Oversee the daily manufacturing operations for stator soft coils, ensuring production targets for quality, cost, and timeliness are met.
  • Plan and prioritize production schedules and resource allocation, including materials and tooling.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Manage the operational budget for the team and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Uphold and enforce quality assurance and quality control standards throughout the production process.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, quality deviations, and safety incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Management department and cross-functional teams to support quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, or 10+ years in an equivalent position.
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is required.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including team building, influencing, accountability, collaboration, and delegation.
  • Strong operational and technical expertise in manufacturing processes, process improvement, quality assurance, and quality control.
  • Experience managing budgets, production resources, materials, and tooling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive operational performance and continuous improvement.
  • Experience implementing projects and process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage day-to-day operational targets and team objectives.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
