Job Description
The Head of Manufacturing Operations & Performance is accountable for enterprise level excellence across PDT Manufacturing and Quality, ensuring that strategy, performance, governance, and innovation are tightly integrated and executed with discipline at scale. This role owns the Business Excellence agenda across Manufacturing and Quality, with specific accountability for:
  • Manufacturing strategy design and deployment and operational excellence
  • Accountable for product allocation across the manufacturing network (both internal and external) to ensure maximum efficiency and supply.
  • Quality laboratory strategy execution
  • Enterprise performance management and governance
  • Product launch Operational Excellence
  • Business innovation, digital adoption, and capability building
  • The role acts as a senior enterprise leader and thought partner to executive leadership, shaping how the organization operates, performs, and continuously improves to reliably deliver high quality products to patients worldwide

1. Enterprise Strategy Deployment & Value Realization
  • Own and lead the design and deployment of Manufacturing and Quality strategies across the global network, ensuring proper alignment to overall PDT strategy.
  • Translate PDT strategies into clear priorities, roadmaps, and value creation initiatives. Lead long range, mid range, and annual planning cycles (LRP, MRP, MYC), ensuring alignment of strategy, resources, and execution.
  • Track, challenge, and ensure realization of measurable business outcomes.
  • S&OE process translation and execution
  • Oversee operations alliance management function with in-licensed partners to ensure adherence to operational commitments and management of joint manufacturing committees.

2. Manufacturing Business Excellence
  • Provide executive leadership for Manufacturing Business Excellence, embedding standardized management systems and operational rigor across sites.
  • Drive sustained improvements in performance, reliability, efficiency, and cost while maintaining compliance and patient focus.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Supply Chain leaders to improve end to end performance and resilience.
  • Ensure consistent adoption of Lean, AGILE, and continuous improvement principles across the manufacturing network.
  • Managing Manufacturing Programs with direct site impact to ensure local deliverable and developments

3. Quality Strategy & QC Laboratory Transformation
  • Lead the execution of Quality Strategy, with PDT accountability for QC laboratory performance, modernization, and scalability.
  • Drive global QC lab transformation, including harmonization, capacity planning, cycle time re-duction, and digital enablement.
  • Partner with Quality leadership to strengthen quality culture, compliance, inspection readiness, and risk management.
  • Ensure Quality excellence is embedded as a business enabler, not a functional silo.

4. Enterprise Performance Management & Governance
  • Own the PDT performance management framework across Manufacturing and Quality.
  • Establish and chair executive level governance forums, ensuring clear decision rights, escalation, and accountability.
  • Define and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and performance routines, enabling fact based executive decision making.
  • Ensure operating models, standards, and governance are applied consistently across regions and sites.

5. Product Launch Excellence (Manufacturing & Quality Readiness)
  • Provide executive oversight of Manufacturing and Quality readiness for product launches.
  • Ensure robust governance, risk management, and execution discipline for launches across the global network.
  • Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Regulatory leaders to ensure right first time launch execution.
  • Actively remove enterprise barriers that could compromise launch success.

6. Business Innovation, Digital & Adoption at Scale
  • Set the PDT vision for business innovation across Manufacturing and Quality.
  • Sponsor and scale digital, data, automation, and advanced analytics solutions that materially improve performance and quality.
  • Ensure innovation initiatives move from pilots to embedded, sustainable capabilities.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement across the organization.

7. Change Leadership & Organizational Capability
  • Lead large scale transformation and change initiatives impacting Manufacturing and Quality globally.
  • Build long term organizational capability in:
  • Strategy execution
  • Performance management
  • Continuous improvement
  • Digital and analytical thinking
  • Develop senior talent, successors, and future leaders; actively contribute to enterprise talent discussions.

Education / Experience
  • Master's degree in engineering, Science, Pharmacy, or related discipline required
  • MBA, MSc, or PhD strongly preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, or Business Excellence within a regulated industry
  • Proven track record leading enterprise level strategy deployment and transformation
  • Deep exposure to Manufacturing and/or QC laboratory operations
  • Demonstrated success operating at senior executive level in complex, global, matrixed organizations
  • Strong experience with performance management, governance, and executive decision support

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$259,000.00 - $407,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
