Job description

The Manufacturing Foreman will oversee the day-to-day production activities within a machining environment focused on metal aircraft engine parts. Managing a team of 5-10 employees, the foreman ensures adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and efficient scheduling on a single day shift. This role involves direct interaction with upper management through regular reporting and participation in strategic planning to drive continuous process improvements and maintain high operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production activities ensuring quality and efficiency in machining metal aircraft engine parts
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of 5-10 manufacturing employees
  • Maintain safety compliance and enforce safety protocols on the shop floor
  • Manage schedules and coordinate shift work to meet production targets
  • Conduct training sessions and coordinate staff development
  • Ensure timely equipment maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Prepare and submit production and progress reports to upper management
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize manufacturing operations
  • Resolve operational problems promptly to keep production on track
  • Collaborate directly with upper management in strategic planning meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing supervision
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Read NC programs
  • Understand Fanuc Controls
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience in Safety Management and compliance
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills
  • Background in Quality Assurance practices
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills
