Job description

The Kiamichi Area Manager is a key leadership role on the Arkansas/Oklahoma Region Lead Team in Weyerhaeuser's Southern Timberlands business. Based in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, this role oversees timberlands operations across approximately 425,000 acres, primarily in Oklahoma, and helps shape and execute regional roadmap strategies aligned with company direction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Kiamichi area P&L management and forecasting.
  • Ensure safe work practices for employees and contractors while maintaining alignment with accepted business policies.
  • Set short-term production rate targets for contract operations to deliver plans aligned with functional strategies.
  • Ensure excellence in harvesting and silviculture contract operations.
  • Meet customer commitments and support customer value delivery expectations.
  • Lead and develop Silviculture Foresters, Development Professionals, and Interns.
  • Collaborate across region, area, and business lines and support functional leaders in meeting company goals.
  • Lead area organizational structure, workload alignment, change management, wildfire response activities, and business best practice execution.

  • Team members understand performance expectations, development gaps, and practical steps to close those gaps.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Forestry or a related degree with at least 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Willing and able to live within the operating area; close proximity will be considered.
  • Willing to work outside normal business hours when necessary due to risks associated with wildfires.
  • Commitment and competency in implementing and monitoring safe work practices for employees and contractors.
  • Experience directing the implementation of business plans.
  • Environmental and safety champion.
  • Able and willing to develop, communicate, and deploy strategic vision and short- and long-term plans.
  • Desire to inspire and lead a diverse team of people to achieve and exceed expectations.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead initiatives that maximize shareholder value.
  • Ability to work across organizational and functional boundaries effectively.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and selling/negotiation skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including forest management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of and commitment to meeting customer value delivery expectations.

  • Previous performance management experience.
  • Experience in safety leadership, people development, silviculture, harvesting, contractor management, wildfire response, forecasting, or budgeting.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $119,088 - $178,774 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
