Job description

Shape the flow of a 24/7 operation Step onto the production floor of a world leader in energy and telecom cable systems. At Prysmian Group, our teams manufacture thousands of miles of cable and connectivity each year-powering cities, linking continents, and carrying the worldโ€™s data. With 30,000 colleagues across 50+ countries, youโ€™ll belong to a global community that turns infrastructure into impact.

As the Fiber Optic Manufacturing Operations Supervisor, you own the performance of one of four rotating crews that keep our fiber-optic cable operation running around the clock. When your 12โ€‘hour shift begins (7amโ€“7pm or 7pmโ€“7am), you take the handoff, confirm safety readiness, align Team Leaders on priorities, and ensure people, materials, and processes are in place to deliver quality product safely and on time.

A day in the life

You start by reviewing the production plan, open MRR items, and carryover actions from the prior shift. You walk the floor with Team Leaders, verify standards at each process area, and rebalance staffing to match changing demand. Throughout the shift, you make in-process quality decisions against our Quality Management System, coach Team Leaders, and clear blockers so the line keeps moving. If an incident occurs, you lead the response, coordinate evacuation as needed, and drive rootโ€‘cause investigation and corrective action. Before handing off, you compile a thorough turnover report so the next crew launches with clarity.

Core accountabilities
  • Own safety, quality, output, and people leadership for your entire crew across all process areas.
  • Lead and develop Team Leaders; set expectations, coach performance, and ensure consistent execution.
  • Deliver shiftโ€‘level production objectives and make quality decisions that support customers and the business.
  • Execute the operations plan endโ€‘toโ€‘end: workflow, material movement, and production sequencing.
  • Reallocate staffing to meet changing priorities, production demands, or unplanned events.
  • Ensure product conformity to the Plantโ€™s Quality Management System requirements.
  • Champion safety and compliance with plant procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines.
  • Serve as first responder and evacuation team lead during emergencies.
  • Lead/participate in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are closed.
  • Execute monthly inventory counts and other required compliance activities.
  • Prepare comprehensive endโ€‘ofโ€‘shift turnover reports to enable seamless handoffs.
  • Communicate priorities and maintain alignment across departments.
  • Manage the MRR queue and drive timely resolution of issues.
Schedule and scope

24/7 fiberโ€‘optic cable manufacturing facility operating with four rotating 12โ€‘hour shifts (7amโ€“7pm / 7pmโ€“7am).

What you bring
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of progressive leadership or management experience in manufacturing.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Background in the optical fiber cabling industry is a plus.
  • Proven commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Talent for developing people and building strong, collaborative teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Steady, professional presence in fastโ€‘paced or highโ€‘pressure situations.
