Operations Manager (Metal Fabrication Manufacturing Leadership)

Operations Manager
Location: Denver, NC
Salary: $90K - $130K

Overview

We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations for a growing precision machining facility serving the aerospace industry. This role will focus on safety, quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement while leading a cross-functional manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations across machining, production, scheduling, and support functions
  • Lead and develop manufacturing personnel to achieve operational goals
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and delivery standards
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize machine utilization
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to improve operational performance
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor KPIs related to productivity, quality, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery
  • Support capacity planning, workforce planning, and resource allocation
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Assist with customer requirements and growth initiatives as the business expands

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Operations Management, Production Management, or Manufacturing Leadership experience
  • Experience in a CNC machining, aerospace manufacturing, precision machining, or metalworking environment
  • Understanding of 5-axis machining operations and manufacturing workflows preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence principles
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience managing schedules, production flow, and employee performance
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, customer-focused manufacturing environment

Preferred Background

  • Aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting AS9100 or ISO 9001 certified operations
  • Background in high-mix, low-volume precision machining environments
