Job description

Reports to: General Manager
Responsible for:
-CNC Production Manager
-Assembly Supervisor
-Secondary/Punch Press Supervisor
Salary: DOE, $110,000 - $120,000 Annually
Opportunity
A&R is a contract manufacturer experiencing strong demand growth which we expect to continue for several years. This position offers an awesome opportunity for career development and progressive earning power.
Management experience in a medium-to-large machine shop; high volume, complex, small metal parts
Significant aerospace industry experience is required.
Must live within 25 miles of Carson, CA
Willing and able to work overtime when required, including Saturday on occasion
Primary
  1. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of Manufacturing and Assembly personnel
  2. Coordinate with Production Manager and Master Scheduler to establish priorities on both shifts for all production areas
  3. Work with GM to create and maintain employee training on a monthly/quarterly basis
  4. Create training aids to instruct and increase skill sets for assemblers, operators, and personnel performing ERP transactions
  5. Responsible for scheduling repairs and Preventative Maintenance for all key production equipment
  6. Control costs, productivity, and labor utilization
  7. Report production key performance metrics: Safety, OTD to customer, machine utilization, labor efficiency, Cost of quality, FPY and quality rejections, and 6S scores.
Secondary
  1. Actively participate in quoting process working with the GM
  2. Work with GM to learn ERP system process for inputting new parts (items) into system
  3. Hazardous waste management and disposal
  4. Work with GM on Safety and 6S program initiatives
  5. Work with GM on implementation of Visual Management and Lean Manufacturing projects
  6. Work with GM and Quality Manager in readiness for AS9100, ISO 9001 and NADCAP scheduled audits
Requirements and qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline
  2. +7 years of work experience in manufacturing/production
  3. Lean Manufacturing training or certification preferred (6S, Kaizen and Visual Management)
  4. Hands-on experience managing a manufacturing facility with CNC, Secondary operations, and multi-part assembly in a medium to high volume environment. Aerospace Manufacturing Industry experience required
  5. Experience leading, empowering, and mentoring teams of individuals to meet and exceed company performance targets
  6. Experience in basic trouble shooting and Preventive Maintenance of CNC Machines and equipment
  7. Analytical skills to collaborate in the creation of quotes for customers
  8. Excellent skills in spoken and written communications
