Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved in support of aerospace and defense production programs.
This role leads production, continuous improvement, and cross-functional coordination to optimize operational performance while maintaining compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.
Manufacturing Supervisors and Facility Manager will report into this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities.
* Drive on-time delivery performance while maintaining strict aerospace/defense quality standards
* Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, throughput, and cost performance
* Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO, ITAR, OSHA, and all applicable regulatory requirements
* Partner with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Planning to resolve production constraints.
* Monitor and report KPIs including OTD, labor efficiency and capacity utilization
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives and sustainment activities.
* Develop, mentor, and manage supervisors, team leads, and production personnel
* Manage departmental budgets and operational spending
* Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
* 5-10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and supply chain operations
* Experience with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems
* Proven leadership experience managing supervisors and production teams
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
* Bachelor's degree in engineering
Preferred Qualifications
* Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma certification
* Familiarity with ITAR/DPAS defense contract compliance requirements
* Experience with CNC machining, assembly, fabrication, or precision manufacturing
