Job description

The MANEX Manager is responsible for leading and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility by deploying Manufacturing Excellence (MANEX) methodologies. This role drives operational efficiency, cost reduction, quality improvement, and employee engagement through Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and other world-class manufacturing practices.

This position is a key member of the site leadership team and requires strong collaboration, influence, and strategic thinking to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities & DutiesManufacturing Excellence & Strategy
  • Lead the implementation of the Manufacturing Excellence (MANEX) strategy across all production areas.

  • Develop and drive the site’s MANEX master plan aligned with business objectives.

  • Align all departments within the site’s supply chain to ensure cohesive MANEX deployment.

  • Lead and support the implementation of Manufacturing Management Systems (MMS).

  • Continuously assess external best practices and integrate relevant standards into operations.


Continuous Improvement & Performance
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and structured problem-solving workshops.

  • Lead improvement projects using DMAIC methodology.

  • Drive performance initiatives focused on cost optimization, waste elimination, and operational flexibility.

  • Provide expert coaching in loss and waste reduction across operational teams.

  • Implement Practice Maturity improvement strategies.

  • Actively participate in Daily Operational Review meetings to identify performance gaps and opportunities.


KPIs & Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze KPIs related to productivity, quality, waste, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

  • Support digital transformation initiatives and promote data-driven decision making.

  • Utilize manufacturing systems (MES, ERP, Power BI) for performance tracking and insights.


Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and P&C teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities.

  • Lead change management initiatives across departments.

  • Support Task Forces and Shift-Based Teams in MANEX deployment and communication.


Training & Capability Building
  • Train and coach employees at all levels on Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement tools.

  • Develop and execute communication plans (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to sustain engagement in MANEX initiatives.

  • Promote a culture of operational excellence and employee involvement.


Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, FDA, etc.).

  • Integrate continuous improvement practices within regulatory frameworks.


Leadership & Governance
  • Act as a member of the site leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and prioritization.

  • Define and manage leadership team schedules to support MANEX initiatives.

  • Lead by example in fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.

QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environments

  • Experience in FDA-regulated industries preferred (tobacco, food, FMCG

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

  • TPM Practitioner

  • Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and/or World Class Manufacturing (WCM)

  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and systems (MES, ERP, Power BI)

  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office and Outlook 365 skills

  • Spanish (fluent – spoken and written)

  • Good understanding of English

  • Ability to communicate effectively and write clear instructions and reports

  
Pay Details: $26.00 to $40.00 per hour
