Role Summary

The Senior Manager, Finance Operations serves as a strategic finance partner to manufacturing and executive leadership, providing the insights, analysis, and financial oversight needed to drive performance across multiple locations. This role leads financial planning, cost accounting, reporting, and compliance activities while helping operational teams identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and long-term business results.

What You'll Do

Financial Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary finance leader supporting multiple manufacturing locations, providing analysis, insights, and recommendations that drive business performance.
  • Partner closely with plant leadership and executive management to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and improve operational and financial results.
  • Present financial performance, key trends, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting cycles, and long-range financial planning across multiple sites.
  • Oversee monthly financial close activities to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable reporting.
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis and develop meaningful KPIs that improve visibility into business performance.

Cost Accounting & Operational Finance

  • Oversee cost accounting activities, including inventory controls, standard costing, bill of materials (BOM) management, and routing structures.
  • Partner with operations teams to evaluate manufacturing costs, identify improvement opportunities, and drive cost reduction initiatives.
  • Provide financial oversight and return-on-investment analysis for capital expenditures, operational improvements, and strategic investments.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of controllers, analysts, and finance professionals across multiple locations.
  • Establish clear performance expectations while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the professional growth of team members through mentorship, training, and development opportunities.

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and financial reporting requirements across all sites.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, balance sheet integrity, and audit readiness.
  • Safeguard company assets through effective financial governance and risk management practices.

Operational & Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead cross-functional projects that improve financial processes, systems, reporting capabilities, and data transparency.
  • Support strategic initiatives including capacity expansion, product portfolio analysis, and operational investments.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and provide decision support for executive leadership as business needs evolve.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive finance or accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial planning, and operational finance.
  • Proven leadership experience managing finance teams and developing talent.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA credentials are preferred.
