Manufacturing Lead
Hyve Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Manufacturing Lead to provide frontline leadership within our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for coordinating daily production activities, driving operational performance, supporting employee development, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity are achieved.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a passion for developing people and improving processes. This individual will serve as a critical link between production teams and leadership, helping to ensure operational goals are met while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operational Leadership
  • Lead daily shift start-up meetings to communicate production priorities, quality objectives, safety expectations, workflow updates, and operational goals.
  • Coordinate and direct hourly personnel to ensure efficient execution of production schedules and department objectives.
  • Monitor workflow throughout the manufacturing process to ensure optimal material movement and uninterrupted production flow.
  • Serve as the department representative during production and shipping meetings when supervisory leadership is unavailable.
  • Maintain awareness of changing business priorities and effectively communicate updates to production teams.
Process Improvement & Performance Management
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, increase productivity, enhance quality, and reduce operational inefficiencies.
  • Analyze departmental performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement short-term corrective actions and contingency plans to address operational challenges.
  • Proactively identify production bottlenecks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Team Leadership & Employee Development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team environment built on trust, accountability, and mutual respect.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to develop employee skills, improve performance, and support career growth.
  • Maintain open and transparent communication regarding team goals, performance expectations, and accomplishments.

  • Escalate operational concerns and quality issues promptly to minimize production disruptions and customer impact.

Reporting & Communication
  • Prepare and communicate daily productivity, labor utilization, and operational performance reports.
  • Provide updates to leadership regarding production status, quality concerns, staffing needs, and operational risks.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to support production objectives and drive issue resolution.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
  • Advanced understanding of Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI) and manufacturing documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop employees on manufacturing processes, quality standards, and operational procedures.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including intermediate-level Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production, electronics, server, or high-tech assembly environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production setting.
