Job description

Our mission at Ansa Biotechnologies is to revolutionize the way we make DNA. Compared to reading or editing life's code, writing new code from scratch has remained one of the field's most elusive challenges. At Ansa, we are putting nature to work, creating novel enzymatic solutions that will redefine how we build DNA. We believe that the biggest challenges our world faces will be solved using biotechnology and that DNA synthesis is the fuel for that transformation. Our enzyme-based approach (published in Nature Biotechnology) promises to dramatically accelerate innovation in biological research and biotechnology, including therapeutics, diagnostics, biomanufacturing, and synthetic biology. We look forward to our DNA products making an impact.

Job Summary

Ansa is seeking an experienced systems integration engineer with deep expertise in Salesforce, NetSuite, and MuleSoft to join our engineering team. We are building sophisticated integrations that connect our core CRM platform, financial systems, and custom manufacturing execution system to enable seamless data flow across Ansa's manufacturing operations. By joining this team of talented engineers, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust integration solutions that automate critical business processes, enhance operational efficiency, and bring joy to our customers. Success means reliable, scalable systems that serve both our commercial and manufacturing operations with minimal downtime and maximum visibility. This is an opportunity to work at an exciting biotech startup, building the systems that power Ansa's growth.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build production-quality integrations between Salesforce, NetSuite, and Ansa's custom manufacturing execution system, emphasizing data integrity and reliability
  • Develop robust Flows and Apex solutions to extend core platform functionality and automate business processes across CRM and financial systems
  • Design and develop new features for Ansa's customer-facing web API
  • Architect and implement MuleSoft integrations that reliably connect disparate systems and handle complex data transformation requirements
  • Own the application of system engineering best practices in Salesforce, including distributed version control, peer code review, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-product, finance, manufacturing, and IT-to understand requirements, validate design approaches, and deliver solutions that meet business needs
  • Diagnose and resolve production integration issues rapidly, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures
  • Share the team's commitment to curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement in a fast-moving startup environment
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with significant depth in building enterprise integrations or platform extensions, including event-driven or asynchronous architecture patterns
  • Demonstrated mastery of software engineering best practices: distributed version control, peer code review, automated testing (unit and integration tests), infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce development, particularly Apex and the Salesforce platform ecosystem
  • Solid experience architecting and implementing integrations with MuleSoft
  • REST API design and implementation
  • Proficiency with Python for integration scripting, data processing, or utility development
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying solutions on a cloud platform such as AWS
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Manufacturing, customer service, or supply chain domain knowledge
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and equity.
  • Generous benefits package including health, dental, and vision.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • A collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • The opportunity to be part of a company at the forefront of synthetic biology and innovation.
