Job description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Telecom Filter Operations Management

  • Manage Telecom filter production operations to meet customer / site requirements.

  • Monitor the line to ensure proper documentation is used, and all procedures are being followed.
  • Maintain minimum requirements for On-time to Promise Date and On-time to Customer Request (POD / CRD) consistent with site targets.
  • Achieve product return level consistent with site targets.
  • Reviews daily production requirements and coordinates with lead personnel to assure staffing, material and equipment are in place to meet the daily requirements
  • Together with supervisors / leads, coordinates resource sharing.
  • Ensure all Multistage lines (Transfer, Test, Tune and Shipping areas) work together cohesively to achieve department goals and lowest possible cost.
  • Continuously monitor lines to identify any areas for process improvements that will reduce operating costs or improve efficiency. 
  • Any processes affecting yields are targeted as potential projects to be examined.
  • A high standard for quality and a safe work environment is maintained.
  • Support implementation of new equipment or software (jointly with ACC staff)
  • Works with Quality Administrator to create work instructions for new and existing processes and to create a training matrix for the area.
  • Manage and maintain all physical and electronic WIP / Inventory
  • Along with the planning group, determine / confirm availability of raw materials 
  • Train existing / new employees to optimize team capability and capacity.
  • Ensure your team is staffed, motivated, inspired, engaged and empowered to deliver a high and sustainable level of performance 
  • Ensure you have the right people in the right jobs, by consistently using proper interview and selection techniques and methodologies throughout your organization.
  • Ensure a learning environment is in place, and your team is trained and developed to consistently achieve your organization's expectations in both the short and long term.
  • Ensure the annual goals are fully operating with meaningful stretch goals for all employees in your organization, that feedback is on-going and focused on development and done with 100% On Time Delivery.
  • Ensure a free flow of two-way information for your organization to work effectively and communication channels are active and open.
  • Ensure an accident-free environment by following all EH&S policies and procedures, maintain a clean, safe and orderly environment and openly endorsing and creating an attitude that all accidents are preventable within your sphere of influence.
  • Ensure that Coherent and local HR policies and procedures are understood and complied with in your area. 
  • All department information systems, records, reports and metrics are accurate and generated on time
  • Company policy is followed regarding all safety, environmental and ergonomic requirements.
  • Company Technology Control Plan, IP protection and Export Compliance requirements are understood and properly followed.
  • Relevant IT and Quality procedures are understood and properly executed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a quality work environment.
  • Role model for Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Satisfaction and Business Results.
  • A high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, competency, and quality is established and maintained.

Education and Experience:  

  • 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing company with 2-5 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience developing and sustaining High-Performance Work Groups 
  • Experience in thin film coatings preferred
  • Knowledge of automation, machining and other manufacturing processes
  • Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution at the functional level
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement
  • Experienced with ISO Quality and business process management
  • Experience in Manufacturing Execution System (MES) strongly preferred
