Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Equipment Layout & CAD Support
  • Develop and maintain AutoCAD layouts for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and supporting infrastructure.
  • Prepare equipment installation layouts, utility connection drawings, equipment location drawings, and construction support packages.
  • Update factory layouts to support new equipment installations, equipment relocations, production line modifications, and capacity expansion projects.
  • Perform field walkdowns to verify equipment locations, facility interfaces, and installation status.
  • Incorporate approved field changes and contractor redlines into controlled engineering documentation.
  • Maintain drawing standards, templates, and revision history.

  • Support Equipment Engineers by preparing complete installation documentation packages.
  • Review OEM facility requirement drawings and installation documentation for completeness and constructability.
  • Verify facility utility interfaces including:
    • Electrical

  • Maintain complete as-built documentation following equipment installation and commissioning.
  • Support installation readiness reviews and project turnover activities.

  • Participate in equipment planning meetings, constructability reviews, commissioning meetings, and project coordination meetings.
  • Support Equipment Engineers throughout equipment planning, installation, startup, and production turnover.
  • Maintain equipment location databases and engineering documentation.
  • Assist with equipment moves, upgrades, and factory optimization projects.
  • Coordinate engineering documentation turnover from OEMs and contractors.
  • Ensure engineering records accurately reflect installed field conditions.

  • Capital Asset & Financial Documentation Support
  • Support Project Controls, Finance, and Capital Project Managers by maintaining engineering documentation required throughout the capital asset lifecycle.
  • Verify equipment installation status through field walkdowns to support project milestone reporting.
  • Maintain equipment identification, location records, utility connection documentation, and as-built packages supporting capitalization and project closeout.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Facilities, Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure engineering documentation aligns with fixed asset records.
  • Assist in validating equipment relocations, transfers, retirements, and modifications.
  • Support capital project closeout by ensuring required documentation is complete, accurate, and available for turnover.

Education & Experience

Education

  • Required (one of the following):

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, CAD Technology, Drafting Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Military technical training with hands-on experience in electronics, avionics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, industrial equipment, nuclear propulsion, radar, communications, or other highly technical maintenance disciplines.
  • Equivalent combination of technical education, military training, and directly related industry experience.
  • Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment or other highly automated manufacturing environments.

Experience

  • 3 years supporting engineering documentation, CAD design, manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, industrial construction, or engineering projects.
  • Experience using AutoCAD to develop engineering layouts and technical drawings.
  • Experience interpreting mechanical, electrical, utility, and construction drawings preferred.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment installations or manufacturing projects preferred.
  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, P&IDs, utility drawings, and OEM installation documentation.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and facility utility systems.
  • Strong spatial awareness and equipment layout visualization skills.
  • Excellent organizational and document control abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering document management systems.

Working Conditions

  • Work in both office and semiconductor cleanroom environments.
  • Frequent travel between office, manufacturing areas, equipment installation sites, and construction zones.
  • Domestic travel up to 5% may be required.
  • Wear required cleanroom PPE and safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform extended field walkdowns within manufacturing and construction environments.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing computer-based work.
  • Ability to climb ladders or access elevated equipment platforms when necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively during field coordination activities.
