Manufacturing Engineer | Faribault, MN
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team in Faribault, MN as a Manufacturing Engineer. You will be part of a group of engineers dedicated to high-quality work, value-add solutions, skill development, and career growth. Employees working in Faribault, MN have a short commute from Northfield, Owatonna, Dundas, Medford, Lakeville, Farmington, Waseca, and Lonsdale, and will enjoy professional growth and community engagement through our regional presence in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
  • Lead manufacturing engineering initiatives to improve workstation safety, ergonomics, manufacturability, labor efficiency, and gross margin across the Power Test and Loadbanks value stream
  • Identify and prioritize engineering-addressable hazards and implement engineered controls to reduce workplace risks
  • Redesign processes, tooling, fixtures, and workstations to lower labor content and improve assembly consistency and repeatability
  • Support value-engineering, cost-reduction, and lean manufacturing initiatives that enhance manufacturability and gross margin
  • Conduct time studies, ergonomic assessments, and workflow analyses to quantify improvement opportunities
  • Develop clear work instructions, standard operating procedures, and visual aids that support safe, efficient, and repeatable assembly processes
  • Partner with EHS, Quality, and Production teams to validate safety improvements, process changes, and engineering solutions
  • Drive measurable performance gains through structured analysis, implementation, and verification of manufacturing engineering improvements
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
  • Contribute to projects that impact communities in Northfield, Owatonna, Dundas, Medford, Lakeville, Farmington, Waseca, and Lonsdale, and the greater Twin Cities metro area
  • Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Background in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or industrial engineering
  • Experience improving workstation safety, ergonomics, and hazard mitigation in production environments
  • Skilled in process redesign, tooling development, fixture design, and workstation optimization
  • Solidworks experience preferred
  • Ability to identify labor inefficiencies and reduce assembly variation through engineered solutions
  • Experience supporting value engineering, cost-reduction initiatives, and manufacturability improvements
  • Strong analytical skills for validating operational, ergonomic, and financial impacts of engineering changes
  • Effective communicator with collaborative, cross-functional problem-solving abilities
ESTIMATED PAY RANGE
Engineer I: $34.62-$40.38/hour
Engineer II: $38.46-$44.23/hour
Engineer III: $43.27-$49.04/hour
Senior Engineer: $46.63-$53.85/hour
Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations. Paid overtime may be available.
