Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
We are seeking an entry-level Strategic Project Engineer. This position is in the Operational Excellence Department in Richland, MS reporting to the Switchgear Americas Cluster Operational Excellence Manager. The position is accountable for ensuring product/process integrity for high voltage circuit breakers through the development and implementation of systems that support internal processes such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, Marketing, EHS, and Quality.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Designing and implementing end-to-end operational project plans for engineering-based initiatives, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Developing detailed engineering designs, specifications, cost estimates, and project controls to support infrastructure, equipment, and facility projects
  • Monitoring project progress and performance against plans, identifying risks, and resolving issues to minimize delays and ensure on-time delivery
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to execute manufacturing, facility expansion, and shop floor optimization projects
  • Driving continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency by leading Lean initiatives, Kaizen workshops, and process enhancements
  • Supporting manufacturing operations by developing standards, selecting materials and equipment, and implementing 5S and capacity enhancement projects

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering preferred.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience working in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment. Candidates with more experience can be considered.
  • Demonstrates initiative, ownership, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive amid changing priorities and business needs
  • Committed to continuous learning, with the ability to quickly apply new knowledge and skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Windows) and experience using AutoDesk CAD programs
