Job description

Manufacturing Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements, cost savings, automation initiatives, and new product launches within a growing manufacturing operation.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys spending time on the production floor, identifying opportunities for improvement, and leading projects from concept through implementation. The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing productivity, supporting new customer programs, implementing new equipment, and helping establish manufacturing best practices across the organization.

This is a highly visible position with significant opportunities for growth and long-term career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements that increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation.

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify automation opportunities.

  • Lead projects involving new equipment selection, implementation, validation, and integration into production.

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and automation teams to improve manufacturing performance.

  • Support new product launches and production line development.

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures.

  • Assist with PFMEA, control plans, process validation, and quality improvement activities.

  • Analyze production data to identify trends and prioritize improvement efforts.

  • Improve key operational metrics including cycle time, downtime, scrap, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and production processes.

  • Support plant layout, workflow improvements, and capacity planning initiatives.

  • Help identify and execute strategic projects that improve manufacturing capabilities and support future growth.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a highly interactive manufacturing engineering role with approximately 70% of time spent on the production floor and 30% spent on documentation, analysis, and project work.

The environment includes assembly operations, automation equipment, and high-volume manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas, challenge the status quo, and help drive operational excellence throughout the facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Engineering preferred).

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process improvement, and Lean principles.

  • Experience implementing new equipment, automation, or capital projects.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of material.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience developing manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process controls.

  • Excellent communication and project management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Automation integration and equipment implementation.

  • Manufacturing process validation.

  • Production line optimization.

  • Quality systems and manufacturing best practices.

  • Industrial equipment selection and evaluation.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who can quickly become a trusted resource within the operation—an engineer who can identify opportunities, build business cases for improvement, and successfully implement solutions.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, technically strong, comfortable on the manufacturing floor, and motivated by making measurable improvements that create real value for the business.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday

  • Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Compensation & Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package

  • Career growth and advancement opportunities

  • Exposure to major capital and automation projects

  • Opportunity to make a significant impact within the organization

In 1997, while working as the CFO of an NYC restaurant group, Avero founder Damian Mogavero, was frustrated with his management team’s inability to answer basic questions about the restaurants’ performance. He wanted a better way to extract the data already being collected by the POS and to enable operators to use it to make better, faster, and more profitable decisions. In 2002, Avero was born. Today, Avero has offices in Dallas, Las Vegas, Boulder, and NYC and is used by over 43,000 operators in 75 countries. And we always stay true to our mission: innovating technology to empower hospitality operators with the answers they need to transform their businesses and their lives.
