The Amazon Robotics (AR) Operations organization is Amazon's manufacturing arm for industrial robotics. We manufacture high-quality robotics for fulfillment and transportation centers across Amazon. It's an operation that works cross-functionally with Engineering and Supply Chain teams. We are seeking a talented, collaborative manufacturing Manager with thorough knowledge of good manufacturing practices and continuous improvement to support manufacturing in our facility in Westborough MA
In this role, you will lead and support a team of manufacturing associates in areas of material handling, electro-mechanical assembly, test, pack and ship. You will be responsible for engaging your team during their shifts and delivering for customer, while maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and performance. The company has complex products that requires a detail-oriented, organized, and high-energy individual to coordinate daily production requirements and lead improvement initiatives. The successful candidate for this position will be a self-managing, action-oriented individual focused on developing and supporting a high performing team while delivering business results.
Key job responsibilities
This is a 2nd Shift Position (3pm-11:30pm M-F). Candidate may be requested to start on 1st shift for training for 30-60 days, then transfer to 2nd shift full time.
- Support, mentor, and motivate production teams.
- Manage operations safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery expectations.
- Oversee daily execution of manufacturing operations to deliver performance to plan with a focus on safety and quality.
- Manage staffing, grow and train / develop a team of high-performing associates, while promoting a culture of inclusion, innovation and performance.
- Gather, trend and report process metrics/KPIs while promoting improvement initiatives from suppliers through factory.
- Drive efficiency and quality through process-focused approaches, process improvement initiatives and root cause / corrective action exercises.
- Build and manage team goals and critical metrics to ensure business success. Drive accountability with the team.
- Lead and implement critical business initiatives across the team.
- Collaborate effectively across functions with matters involving Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.
- Conduct employee reviews, hiring, and all disciplinary functions for the reporting team.
- Contribute to Operations project teams leading new product introduction and other manufacturing initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration or a related field
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience managing direct reports
- Can show strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, InfoPath, SharePoint, etc.
- Experience in mentoring, leading and coaching
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and team-building skills.
- 2+ years experience in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a high volume, high production operations environment
- Experience in launching new products
- Knowledge of materials management processes, including inventory management, purchasing, warehouse management, and material requirements planning
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques
- Experience with analytical tools and ability to dive deep into metrics and reporting
- Experience working with Oracle ERP and Agile PLM. • Experience in advanced manufacturing, distribution and logistics.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
