The Manufacturing Associate plays a key role in a controlled biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment, executing detailed work instructions and operating specialized equipment to support the production of high-quality products. This position focuses on following current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maintaining accurate documentation and batch records, working in cleanroom suites, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and quality systems. The role involves semi-routine assignments with opportunities to achieve full training status, assist in training others, and support quality and compliance activities.

• Execute detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to complete manufacturing assignments accurately and efficiently.
• Operate biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and follow established principles and processes to support production activities.
• Achieve full training status on assigned tasks and assist in training new or less experienced staff members.
• Work on semi-routine assignments, seeking guidance on new processes while applying established skills and knowledge.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete batch records and production documentation in accordance with GMP and quality standards.
• Inspect finished products and in-process materials to verify adherence to specifications and quality requirements.
• Assist with batch record reconciliation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with operational and regulatory expectations.
• Support and perform preventative maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment as directed.
• Adhere to Quality Management Systems and assist with closure of nonconformance reports and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) activities.
• Identify issues, deviations, or abnormal conditions that require escalation and promptly communicate them to senior operators or area leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following contamination control practices and housekeeping standards.
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, training, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), GMP, and cleanroom gowning requirements.
• Aseptically gown and/or sterile gown as needed to work in cleanroom manufacturing suites.
• Write, read, and review documentation, SOPs, and batch records for extended periods to ensure compliance and process control.
• Use computer systems daily to enter data, complete electronic records, and review manufacturing and quality documentation.
• Make decisions related to moderately complex GMP manufacturing activities with minimal to moderate supervision, using sound judgment and established guidelines.
• Recognize, understand, and respond to situations that require further evaluation and report them appropriately.
• Perform activities in a manner that prioritizes safety and helps prevent releases, accidents, and injuries.
• Work effectively within manufacturing suites for the majority of the shift, complying with PPE and cleanroom requirements.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams, quality groups, production leadership, and process specialists to meet production and quality goals.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience in manufacturing, operations, production, laboratory setting, or a related field.
• Technical expertise or strong aptitude in biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, principles, and processes.
• Strong understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions, batch records, and SOPs while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Proficiency in learning and using new software applications and electronic tools for documentation and data entry.
• Ability to make decisions for moderately complex GMP manufacturing activities with minimal to moderate supervision.
• Capability to recognize, understand, and respond to situations requiring further evaluation and escalate appropriately.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with peers, senior associates, and area leadership.
• Understanding of operational documents for GMP compliance, including accuracy, completeness, and documentation practices.
• Ability to work comfortably in a cleanroom environment, wearing PPE and following gowning and contamination control procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow detailed procedures, perform quality inspections, and maintain documentation accuracy.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude, including basic troubleshooting and equipment operation experience.
• Ability to safely perform activities to prevent releases, accidents, and injuries, including working with hazardous or infectious agents when required.
• Ability to aseptically gown and/or sterile gown as needed for cleanroom operations.
• Comfort with extended periods of reading, writing, and reviewing documentation.
• Ability to meet specific vision requirements, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to regularly talk and hear, and frequently sit and stand for extended periods.
• Capability to occasionally lift materials, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Willingness and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout the shift.
• Comfort with daily computer use and electronic documentation.
• Ability to work with dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous and infectious agents, and in environments with marked changes in temperature.
• Schedule flexibility to work rotating schedules, every-other-weekend shifts, and 12-hour shifts.
• Comfort working on feet for extended periods, wearing PPE for entire shifts, and working in varying temperatures.

• Strong documentation skills, including completing batch and production data, reading manufacturing documents, reviewing written procedures, and using electronic systems.
• Demonstrated ability to follow contamination control practices and cleanroom protocols.

Work is highly team-based, involving close collaboration with manufacturing teams, quality groups, production leadership, and process specialists. All activities follow GMP procedures, quality standards, safety standards, and contamination controls. Employees may work with dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous and infectious agents, and experience marked changes in temperature. The role involves standing for extended periods, working on one’s feet, and wearing PPE throughout the shift. Dress and appearance must comply with GMP standards, including no exposed piercings, no nail polish, no artificial nails, and no excessive jewelry.

This is a Contract position based out of Plainville, MA.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
