Job description

This position is responsible for providing process engineering support to the production lines and improving assembly processes. Office located in Houston, not remote, hybrid; expected in office during workday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform time studies and line balancing on assembly lines.
• Support facility layout and improvement projects.
• Train operators on assembly processes.
• Propose and implement improvements to existing products, processes, and procedures.
• Design and implement new tools to help improve quality and productivity.
• Work with Test and Quality Engineers to reduce cycle-time and resolve manufacturing issues on a timely basis.
• Assist Process Engineer in NPI (New Product Introduction) and process improvement.
• Provide production floor support as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of Tact Time Analysis, Lean production methods, KanBan, and lean manufacturing
• Understanding of quality systems such as Six Sigma
• Knowledge of Manufacturing BOM (bill of material) structure
• AutoCAD, Visio, and SAP knowledge
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills
• Proven ability to function independently and multi-task
• Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment
Education and Experience:
• Minimum Associate's degree with 2 years of process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Contract manufacturing experience is a plus.
