Job description

Manufacturing Engineer

Under the direction of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for assisting in the detailed review of internal quality systems and assisting in the maintenance of continuous improvement. This Engineering role is responsible for providing recommendations for improvement of internal processes and utilizing their problem-solving skills to ensure compliance aligns with the Quality Management System as well as ISO procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in contract review of new orders/ production jobs and contact customers for clarification if needed. Assist in the review of customer requirements.
  • Participate in the review and edit of complex blueprints for manufacturing as needed including allowances for heat treating, plating, etc.
  • Collaborate in the review and edit of manufacturing process routing and changes as necessary.
  • Help with the implementation of ECO's and work closely with quality department and manufacturing teams to determine and implement the appropriate corrective actions taken.
  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel and management on manufacturing processes and areas of improvement.
  • Assist in the review and implementation of ISO, Government and other regulatory requirements.
  • With direction, maintain, review, improve and update internal procedures and work instructions as necessary.
  • Actively participate in internal audits and assist in the facilitation of customer/registrar audits.
  • Perform other work-related activities as assigned by the Senior Manufacturing Engineer and/or upper management.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect precision machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to handle delicate parts and operate gauges and inspection equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform work requiring continuous sitting with frequent walking, bending, twisting, and lifting through the entire shift.
  • Physical strength to lift and carry 30lbs. frequently throughout the day.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, college education preferred.
  • 2-5 years of similar experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Understanding of precision machining process.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and quality control principles.
  • Familiarity with Epicor and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving abilities, strong mathematical abilities, and proven verbal/written communication. 
  • Ability to work self--directed and as a member of a team in a multi-tasked environment, regularly managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Good attendance and performance work history.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Pay rate is based on experience and skillset.
