Manufacturing Assistant
Rapidly growing machining company in Elk Grove Village is seeking a Manufacturing Assistant. The ideal candidate we are looking for this position should be eager to learn and looking to build a career in advanced manufacturing. The position is responsible for assisting the Production and Quality staff in basic planning functions, MRP data processing, and clerical work related to production, quality and sales.

Contour Machining offers competitive pay commensurate with experience. Our production facility is newly renovated, air conditioned, well-lit, clean, and well-organized.

Office Assistant Duties:

  • Closing shop routers / work orders and processing non-conformances within our MRP system (Mie Trak- we will provide training on our Mie Trak MRP system)
  • Placing outside service POs and processing inbound parts from outside service
  • Daily follow up with our vendors on outside service, materials, and any purchased items to assure dates will be met.
  • Scanning and processing work orders and purchase orders into our records management system
  • Assist the Production Planner and Quality / Operations Manager in daily tasks, including contract review
  • May be cross trained in additional production and shipping tasks along with deliveries.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Energized by frequently changing tasks – this role is varied and exciting, not repetitive and boring
  • Must be extremely detail oriented and organized
  • Some experience with blueprint reading and analysis is strongly encouraged
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 standard practices is a plus
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and comfortable learning new technology – we will teach you how to use our MRP (MIE Trak ) system.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions in written, verbal, and schedule form
  • Experience in a CNC machining production environment a plus
  • Planning and production control experience is a plus
