Job Title: Software QA Engineer

Location: Salem, OR 97312 (Hybrid)
Employment Type: 4+ Month W2 Contract (No C2C or sponsorship available)

About the Role

Talent Groups is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to support a growing enterprise applications team. This role is ideal for an experienced manual QA professional who enjoys hands on testing, collaborating with business and technical teams, and helping improve software quality practices.

The team is transitioning testing responsibilities away from Business Analysts and establishing a more dedicated QA function. Testing strategy and planning are already in place. The primary need is for someone who can quickly execute high quality manual testing across multiple initiatives. The hiring manager expects this contract to extend into next year.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual testing across multiple enterprise applications and projects.
  • Perform approximately 50 percent UI testing and 50 percent integration testing.
  • Validate enhancements, maintenance releases, and backlog items against business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Create and execute test plans, test cases, and testing documentation.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
  • Partner with developers, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure successful software delivery.
  • Promote QA best practices through collaboration, communication, and hands on execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience with manual software testing.
  • Experience creating and executing test plans and test cases.
  • Experience testing enterprise applications.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OnBase or other document management platforms.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Filevine or similar case management platforms.
  • SQL or basic coding experience.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus.
