Job description

As aย Software QA Engineer for the advanced semiconductor packaging equipment team at Kulicke and Soffa, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of complex real-time software systems. These systems coordinate motion control, pick-and-place processes, image acquisition, and object recognition.

You will work in a collaborative Agile (Scrum) environment alongside developers, system engineers, and global teams to validate new features, identify defects, and improve overall product quality. This role includes bothย manual and automated testing, with exposure to simulation environments as well as physical equipment.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing (flexible based on level)ย 
  • Strong understanding ofย software testing methodologies, test design, and defect lifecycleย 
  • Experience with python test automation frameworks or scriptingย 
  • Exposure to C++ codebases for debugging, test design, or system understanding

  • Experience testing real-time, embedded, or hardware-integrated systemsย 
  • Demonstrated systems thinking ability to understand end-to-end workflows, component interactions, and failure scenarios across software and hardware layersย

  • Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for real-time control systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and multi-site teams to review and refine software requirementsย 
  • Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing on semiconductor equipment softwareย 
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution using standard defect management toolsย 
  • Design and implement automated tests using Python for system and integration-level validation
  • Validate software in both simulation environments and on actual equipmentย 
  • Support equipment demos, qualification, and customer acceptance testing (buyoff)ย 
  • Investigate system behavior, troubleshoot issues, and work closely with developers to resolve defectsย 
  • Contribute to improvements in test coverage, QA processes, and tooling
