Job description

Purpose

The commission analyst is responsible for the accurate calculation, analysis, reporting, and payment of sales commissions. This role will be key in the support and implementation of commission incentive programs through internal and external data analysis.  In this role, they will work closely with their management in the design, implementation, and maintenance of commission programs. The commission analyst will work closely with Sales teams, Commercial Management, and Financial Management for the various Ravago entities.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.   

  1. Area of Focus (In order of percentage of time spent on activity, importance and/or priority)

 

    1. Calculate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales commissions based on established compensation plans.
    2. Review and recalculate the margin and manual adjustments as needed.
    3. Review, create, update, and maintain commission payout rules in SARA (Sales Assignments Rules App) according to commercial management.
    4. Set up new hires in commission software
    5. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of month-end accruals to accounting.
    6. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of commission payouts to accounts payable and payroll
    7. Work with IT and business systems team for troubleshooting and resolve report and system connection issues between various Ravago tools
    8. Address inquiries from sales staff regarding commission calculations and payments.
    9. Work with Payroll and Accounting departments to reconcile payments and accruals.
    10. Analyze data to identify trends, fluctuations, and plan effectiveness.
    11. Create simulations for proposed plans to provide insight and various outcomes to the businesses.
    12. Utilize commission software to automate and streamline commission processes.
    13. Participate in any testing and validation of any new functionality related to commissions.

  1. Coordinate and lead collaborative conversations with management to align and implement new strategic plans.
  2. Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of commission processes.
  3. Maintain audit-ready commission records
  4. Assist in the development and maintenance of commission plans working with third-party consultants.
  5. Liaise with finance and HR departments to ensure accurate data flow and resolve any commission-related issues.
  6. Participate in implementations of new ERP systems, upgrades, and new acquisitions related to commissions to ensure global consistency.
  7. Complete ad hoc reporting, metrics, and analytics.
  8. Support compensation plan rollouts and training.
  9. Participate in training and personal development programs.
  10. All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

  1. Education:
    1. A four-year college degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related fields desired or equivalent experience is considered in lieu of a degree.
    2. Postgraduate studies in Data Analytics a plus.
  2. Experience:
    1. Minimum of 3 years of related sales incentive experience is preferred
    2. Varicent Incentives experience is a plus.
  3. Licenses / Certifications:
    1. Valid driver’s license – required
  4. Language:
    1. Proficiency in English required
