By contributing your expertise, you will play an essential role in improving the mental health and well-being of our clients.

About the Organization

At Mantra Counseling Services, we are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for trauma survivors. Our outpatient community health clinic in Rochester, New York, is designed to create a safe space where patients can begin their healing journey. We are passionate about providing trauma-informed care and utilize evidence-based therapeutic practices to empower our clients towards recovery and resilience.

Work Environment

This remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your home while remaining an integral part of a multidisciplinary team. Our organization emphasizes collaboration and ongoing professional development, making it an ideal environment for therapists who wish to deepen their trauma treatment expertise. With a typical work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, there may be some flexibility based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and identify appropriate treatment approaches.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans centered on trauma recovery and resilience-building strategies.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing and coping.
  • Provide both individual and group therapy sessions that encourage clients to process trauma and develop effective coping mechanisms.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care for patients.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring that patients receive immediate assistance when needed.
  • Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources to aid in their recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities targeted at enhancing trauma-informed care.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy through continuous education and professional development opportunities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Mantra Counseling Services, you will primarily work with trauma survivors facing a variety of challenges related to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your role will involve providing empathetic support and guidance to patients who have experienced traumatic events, equipping them with the skills to navigate their emotions and restore their mental health.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
  • A strong foundation in trauma-related disorders and a thorough understanding of trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach towards clients.
  • The ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, providing support to clients in need.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.
  • A collaborative mindset, ready to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, those with less experience but a strong commitment to trauma-informed care are encouraged to apply. Specific experience with trauma-focused therapies is a significant asset.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 annually. Mantra Counseling Services offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare benefits, retirement savings plans with employer-matching contributions, generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay, professional liability insurance coverage, and support for continued education and professional development.
