Job description

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Lawndale, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Lawndale, CA!

Details:

  • In-Person Tutoring in Lawndale, CA!
  • Schedule: 10 hours per month; 2 sessions per week for 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Rate is betweem $25 and $35 per hour

Ideal Candidate:

  • Fluent in Mandarin (required), with strong verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting young learners in second language acquisition, particularly expressive language development
  • Background working with early childhood students or preschool/kindergarten-aged learners
  • Understanding of language development, including vocabulary building and conversational skills
  • Experience integrating language learning into play-based and interactive activities
  • Familiarity with supporting students with IEPs or developmental needs is a plus
  • Creative, engaging, and patient, with the ability to build rapport with young learners
  • Able to use songs, storytelling, and hands-on activities to support language acquisition
  • Mandarin tutor who knows traditional writing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide immersive Mandarin language instruction with a focus on expressive language and speaking skills
  • Support vocabulary development and conversational Mandarin through natural, play-based interactions
  • Encourage verbal responses in Mandarin, gradually increasing expressive communication
