Job description

**This is a base plus incentive role. Candidates awarded the position can expect a base pay of $43,000 and high performers can expect a very generous monthly incentive and annual payout.**

Primary Purpose of Job

Manages a book of business by maintaining relationships with customers. Solicits prospective customers and sells suitable investment products. Partners with branches and licensed branch employees to grow the investment business. This position requires fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese to support our customer base, however we will still consider candidates that speak either Mandarin or Cantonese.

Major Job Accountabilities

  • Provides individual customer financial planning and advice utilizing advisory, insurance, annuities, and investment company products based on need.
  • Uses engagement and discovery process to uncover client needs and uses a holistic approach to financial planning.
  • Ensures own work and branch office is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Develops a business plan to achieve sales goals and marketing activities.
  • Conducts presentations and solicits prospective customers for investment products/services based on customer suitability.
  • Contacts all assigned leads and branch referrals for appointments and sales presentations. Tracks and reports results to branches and/or management.
  • Conducts branch meetings and training on a regular basis, and engages in huddles and activities for all assigned branches.
  • Oversees, mentors, and trains licensed branch employees in assigned branches.
  • Partners with bankers and regularly meets to strategize on cross-referral opportunities.
  • Meets production and revenue goals as determined by management.
  • Prepares and submits all required reports in a timely manner.
  • Keeps management updated regarding customer relationships and any potential issues that may arise and reports any written or verbal complaints immediately.
  • Participates in client appreciation events, seminars and other bank-sponsored events.

Experience Required

Three (3) years of work experience in direct sales experience in the securities and/or insurance business.

Required Skills or Training

  • Must be fluent in either Mandarin or Cantonese.
  • Fluency in both Mandarin and Cantonese is preferred.
  • Able to work during the business hours of assigned bank branches.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills to communicate effectively with both individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrates competency in use of computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email applications, and internet search engines.

Professional Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration Requirements

  • Holds current Hawaii Life and Health Licenses, SIE, 7, and 66 securities registrations.
  • CFP, CLU, ChFC or equivalent designations is a plus.
  • Valid US driver’s license and access to transportation.
