Headquartered in Los Angeles, California with over 100 offices and more than 80 correspondent offices, our commitment to providing relentless, customized service is the foundation of our consistent growth.

A Rare Opportunity to Own One of the Most Expansive Books on the Street

We are building something exceptional. Our Equity Sales Trading group in New York City is seeking an elite Managing Director, Sales Trader to own and grow our Generalist franchise across some of the most dynamic and high-conviction sectors in global equity markets. This is not a seat; it is a platform. You will have access to world-class research, institutional client flow, cutting-edge execution infrastructure, and a compensation structure built to reward top performers. If you have a loyal buy-side following, the versatility to trade across sectors with authority, and the ambition to take your practice to its ceiling, we want to speak with you.

About the Role

As our Managing Director, Sales Trader, you will be the primary point of contact for our most valued buy-side clients across a broad and diversified sector coverage universe; including Technology, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Industrial Technology, Consumer & Retail, Consumer Tech, Financial Institutions and Real Estate, and Natural Resources, Energy & Industrials. You will work closely with our research analysts, sales team, and trading desk to deliver superior execution, differentiated market intelligence, and proactive idea generation across the full spectrum of your coverage. This is a high-profile, high-impact role with full institutional support and unmatched breadth of client engagement opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive liquidity sourcing by actively marketing order flow to buy-side clients and internal trading desks across all covered sectors; leveraging your network and cross-sector expertise to maximize execution quality and minimize market impact
  • Serve as a real-time intelligence hub across your coverage universe; synthesizing sector-specific news flow, earnings catalysts, macro developments, and positioning data to keep clients ahead of the market in every vertical
  • Generate and distribute high-conviction investment ideas through daily and weekly written commentary, Bloomberg client chats, and direct client engagement; building a reputation as a must-read, cross-sector voice across your buy-side network
  • Build and deepen buy-side relationships, becoming the go-to Sales Trader for your book of clients across fundamental long-only, hedge fund, multi-strategy, and sector-specialist accounts
  • Partner with our research and corporate access teams across all covered verticals to deliver a fully integrated, white-glove service experience that retains and grows wallet share
  • Manage risk positions with discipline and precision across multiple sectors simultaneously; demonstrating sound judgment in fast-moving markets and communicating clearly with the desk on real-time exposures
  • Collaborate on back-office functions including trade booking and break resolution to ensure seamless, error-free settlement

Why Join Us

  • Platform, not just a seat: You will have the full weight of our institutional franchise behind you; research, corporate access, capital markets, and a senior team invested in your success across every sector you cover
  • Compensation that reflects performance: Our bonus structure is designed to reward elite producers. Top performers are compensated like partners
  • Culture of excellence: We operate with urgency, integrity, and a relentless focus on client outcomes. You will work alongside some of the sharpest minds in the business
  • Stability meets opportunity: We have the balance sheet and client relationships of an established institution, with the growth mindset of a firm that is hungry to take market share

  • 10+ years of sell-side equity sales trading experience, with demonstrated generalist or multi-sector coverage
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
  • Active Series 7, 63 and 55 licenses
  • Proven roster of institutional buy-side clients with broad sector interests
  • Working knowledge and fluency across Technology, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Industrial Technology, Financial Institutions and Real Estate, Consumer & Retail, Consumer Tech, and Natural Resources, Energy & Industrials
  • Advanced financial literacy and ability to analyze and communicate across diverse sector reporting frameworks
  • Ability to manage risk positions across multiple sectors under pressure
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Office (Excel advanced)
