License and Certification Qualifications:
  • Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission Required

Education Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field Required

Experience Qualifications:

Primary Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Transportation with the management and leadership of daily student transportation operations for Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS).
  • Assist the Director of Transportation with the management and leadership of daily student transportation operations for Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS).
  • Develop the governing processes and procedures that have subordinate buy-in and are applicable in the actions of staff.
  • Provide analytical evaluation by processing large amounts of data (i.e. factual, heuristic, and anecdotal) and apply the resources available (i.e. time, staff, and expertise) to determine the best course of action in any given situation.
  • Act as the functional expert by maintaining the highest level of expertise in the student transportation industry.
  • Assist with directing the operations and personnel management of the department.
    • Monitor ongoing processes and actions and evaluate data and application of expertise.
  • Provide community outreach by meeting with other departments within GCPS, parents, and civic leaders throughout the population of Gwinnett County.
  • Provide leadership development and coaching opportunities for staff.
  • Develop innovative processes and procedures that are designed to increase departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify areas and/or opportunities for operational improvement and develop improvement initiatives to be implemented
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
