Job description

Overview
The Administrative Assistant provides analytical and project management support functions to the ShandsCair Administrative leadership team. Anticipates the need for and provides data and information relevant to the assigned work area. Enhance operational and financial performance within the department by exercising independent judgment in the identification of key trends, implementation of problem resolution, and providing recommendations. Perform data collection for project development and/or document generation. Participates in projects related to acquisition, utilization, and distribution of supplies for ShandsCair. The Administrative Assistant for UF Health ShandsCair provides administrative support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountability within the department and in collaboration with other departments.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A. A. or A. S. degree preferred and two years past managerial or project management experience
  • 5 years progressively responsible managerial/administrative experience with project task management in health-related field may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience must include database management skills with word processing and spreadsheet abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of general accounting principles including purchasing/receiving and cost-comparison required.
  • Must demonstrate good technical writing skills and excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must require minimum supervision and be able to exercise sound independent judgment.
  • Must be able to work independently and/or within a team-oriented environment using appropriate CQI tools.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of individual personalities.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where access to and control of confidential information is a significant issue. Must be able to work independently and for extended periods at a computer.
