Job Title: GIS Lab Coordinator (Temporary Position)

Job Summary
Lindenwood University is seeking a GIS Lab Coordinator to support student research, manage geospatial technology, and contribute to Remote Sensing and GeoAI initiatives. This is a temporary, full-time, grant-funded position that will begin immediately and continue through December 2026, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon continued grant funding.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative and level of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the total of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position. Employees may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description
Key Responsibilities
  • Mentors and supports student researchers; coordinate with faculty and external partners
  • Deploys and maintains GIS technologies across courses; troubleshoot issues
  • Supports use of Esri tools (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, Experience Builder, Dashboards, Story Maps)
  • Utilizes advanced remote sensing tools (e.g., ENVI) and geospatial coding (Python, Arcade, Jupyter)
  • Oversees Remote Sensing and GeoAI research activities
  • Tests, deploys, and trains others on new learning modules
  • Compiles research data and prepare content for project reports

Required Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A minimum of 1 year relevant professional experience

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
