Job description

Job Description:

Established nearly two centuries ago, FM is a leading mutual insurance company whose capital, scientific research capability and engineering expertise are solely dedicated to property risk management and the resilience of its policyholder-owners. These owners, who share the belief that the majority of property loss is preventable, represent many of the world's largest organizations, including one of every four Fortune 500 companies. They work with FM to better understand the hazards that can impact their business continuity to make cost-effective risk management decisions, combining property loss prevention with insurance protection.

Duties: Responsible for delivering technical boiler and machinery courses and for maintaining the highest standards of technical accuracy and content quality. Lead instructional sessions that build critical‐thinking skills through real‐world scenarios and hands‐on learning. Responsible for all aspects of technical education and development, including conducting needs analyses, creating and updating training materials, and ensuring content reflects current and consistent discipline‐specific practices, procedures, and systems. Facilitate both classroom and field-based instruction, and collaborate with corporate departments, divisions, and operations centers to support organizational learning needs.

Qualifications:

Requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any field) or related field of study, and 7 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving commercial property loss prevention engineering, including evaluating commercial property hazards and providing loss‐prevention recommendations. Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: assessing and evaluating Boiler and Machinery (B&M) property risks and hazards, including analysis of pressure vessels, turbines, compressors, and electrical distribution equipment; and translating B&M technical requirements into realistic loss scenario exercises for use in training programs. Experience specified must include 3 years of experience applying FM Data Sheets to assess B&M equipment hazards and protective features; 2 years of experience explaining complex engineering concepts to both technical and non‐technical audiences; and 2 years of experience providing training consultation to managers, field engineers, operations centers, and client teams to support business objectives. Experience specified must also include 1 year of experience with each of the following: reviewing B&M training programs, including curriculum design, analysis of industry trends, and evaluation of measurable business outcomes for a global audience; all phases of instructional design from implementation, performing training needs assessments, and designing and delivering hands-on active learning and remote learning programs; technical education and training; facilitating learning opportunities through complex and innovative curricula, programs, workshops, courses, and materials for instructor-led, virtual, online, and blended environments targeting a global audience in corporate environments; collaborating with diverse colleagues in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary global environment; and leading, coaching, and mentoring high performing teams. Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel.

The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience. The position is eligible to participate in FM's comprehensive Total Rewards program that includes an incentive plan, generous health and well-being programs, a 401(k) and pension plan, career development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, flexible work, time off allowances and much more.
FM is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse workforce.
