Our collaborative, multidisciplinary group spanning architectural, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, process engineering, pipeline design, and integrity management works together to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions.
As a Civil Engineer, you will work with our civil/environmental team performing technical evaluations, planning, design, and construction administration. This role will support our civil and environmental disciplines, and most importantly help grow our portfolio of work with clients across multiple geographies but primarily based in New Jersey. This position will require work with our project teams in New Jersey with approximately 50% travel to the Linden, NJ project site with possible travel nationally.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering design tasks with guidance from project engineers and project managers on large, complex civil/environmental remediation projects through applications of relevant design criteria, and standards and processes of both public and private clients.
  • Assist with a variety of field assignments including soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and system Operation and Maintenance (O&M).
  • Perform field oversight of subcontractors.
  • Prepare technical reports and evaluate site data to progress projects toward regulatory closure.
  • Establish strong, productive internal collaborative relationships with senior-level staff.
  • Participate in Kleinfelder's safety culture.
  • Continuously interact and learn from technical design staff.

Qualifications:
  • B.S. in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering.
  • 1-4 years of relative experience or willingness to learn site/civil design including site grading, stormwater analysis, erosion/sediment control measures and earthworks estimation.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • A strong work ethic with excellent organizational, communication, computer and technical writing skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills.
  • Willingness to travel out of state.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certificate.
  • Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) card within 6 months of start date.
