About the Position:

 
Cologix is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Systems Administration team.  This role will be responsible for development and engineering of internal solutions that support the core business operation.  Primary functions will be designing, deploying and monitoring automation services between various business systems; reviewing, analyzing and streamlining current business processes and systems; assisting with designing, deploying and management of core business systems.

What you do daily:
  • Contribute to the implementation of new products while supporting the ongoing development, maintenance, and optimization of DevOps practices across Engineering.
  • Collaborate with vendors, engineering teams, and peer operations organizations to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Develop and establish organizational standards, policies, procedures, and best practices for DevOps environments.
  • Design and implement simple, repeatable, and reliable solutions that streamline systems, processes, and operational workflows.
  • Own and coordinate release management activities to support consistent, controlled, and successful deployments.
  • Establish, maintain, and support systems and tools used across development and production environments.
  • Develop, administer, and maintain version control systems and associated processes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive documentation library for DevOps systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Create technical and operational documentation for new systems and solutions to enable effective transition and knowledge transfer to operational support teams.
What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline (preference), or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps
  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience working with a variety of open-source technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, and JVM-based server environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as Python, PHP, Perl, and/or Ruby.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations best practices within highly available, production-critical environments.
  • Ability to work independently, effectively manage priorities, and take ownership of assigned projects and tasks.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams.
  • A proactive, positive approach with a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously develop new skills.
  • AWS architecture certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, is a plus.
