The Role:

The Sr Manager, Technology Business Management supports the execution and performance management by managing and supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting. The role delivers data driven insights, strengthens financial controls, and enables effective expense management and decision making for Global Banking and Markets Enterprise Technology and Global Wealth Management Technology through budget management, allocations, and ongoing financial oversight.

  • Produce clear, insightful, and decisionoriented business commentary for recurring Management and Executive Committees, Board materials, and regulatory forums.
  • Develop narrative explanations that translate financial and operational data into meaningful insights, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support senior leadership with timely, accurate management reporting and performance updates.

Financial Management and Control

  • Provide endtoend financial management and oversight of the annual budget process, including reporting, forecasting, accruals, allocations, invoice tracking, and invoice payments.
  • Lead systematic tracking and reporting of operational and project budgets, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Analyze plan vs. actuals and forecasts; identify and communicate variances, risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Oversee initiatives to achieve annual financial targets while maintaining strong financial discipline and controls.

Technology Cost Allocations

  • Analyze and manage the allocation of technology costs across business units and services.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve service taxonomy, cost transparency, and underlying data structures.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of technology allocation processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Technology Business Management (TBM) best practices.

Tech Finance Transformation

  • Promote transparency in technology spending and support broader technology finance transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with Technology Finance on key programs, including efficiencies, Contractor Pool Optimization, Cost Centralization, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Help embed new financial frameworks into businessasusual operations.

Project Portfolio

  • Manage, track, and report on the financial performance of the overall program portfolio and major / critical projects, ensuring alignment to defined Key Performance Indicators.
  • Coordinate with enterprise program management teams on initiatives with U.S. impact.
  • Lead the financial governance process for new business cases, including:
  • Coordinating business case development with Technology and Business partners
  • Reviewing and validating CAPEX and OPEX financial assumptions
  • Supporting approval processes and ongoing financial tracking

 

Control Framework & Monitoring

  • Develop leadership analysis including target management, trending, and projections.
  • At the direction of engagement leaders, prepare status reports and updates for management and committee forums.
  • Develop, define, and embed policies, procedures, guidelines, and controls related to:
      • Operational and project financials
      • Forecasting and resource management
      • Vendor and cost management
  • Support day to day business operations, strategic planning, prioritization, and expense management.

Regulatory and Controls

  • Apply the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture to daytoday activities and decisionmaking.
  • Contribute to regulatory requests and inquiries, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and completeness of responses.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for audits, annual policy reviews, and control assessments (e.g., Mandatory Absence, Clean Desk, and related controls).

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in financial management, business management, or technology finance within a large, complex, and regulated organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a STEM discipline required; MBA and/or professional designation (CPA) preferred.
  • Deep expertise in financial and management reporting, with a strong understanding of banking business planning processes, accounting systems, budgeting, internal controls, and cost allocation methodologies.
  • Highly structured, critical thinker with advanced problemsolving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to mobilize stakeholders, align decisionmakers, and drive resolution of complex issues under pressure.
  • Sound judgment in assessing priorities, risks, and tradeoffs, with appropriate escalation to senior leadership.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency required, including handson experience managing large datasets, integrating multiple data sources, and developing dynamic analytical tools.
  • Strong ability to translate complex data into clear insights, metrics, and executiveready visualizations.
  • Demonstrated experience with key financial and reporting tools, including PPM, Power BI, Apptio, PowerPoint, Visio, PeopleSoft, SmartView, and MARS.
