About This Role

The IT Support Specialist III is vital in managing and optimizing endpoint management and patch management services to ensure the efficiency and security of PC and Mac systems within the university. This position plays a key role in maintaining system performance, enhancing user satisfaction, and ensuring high compliance with the latest software updates. The specialist will work closely with IT teams to streamline processes, implement new technologies, and maintain a robust IT infrastructure that supports the university's operational needs. This position provides Tier II and III support and service restoration for daily operations and projects in a complex, distributed computing environment.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and three years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • IT Support Experience: Solid experience in IT support, focusing on endpoint and patch management for both PC and Mac systems. Experience in managing IT services within an IT department is highly desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in managing IT tools and technologies, including endpoint management systems and patch deployment tools. Familiarity with best practices in IT operations and system maintenance.
  • Collaborative and Vendor Interaction Skills: Proven ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with external vendors to enhance IT services. Understanding of the contractual and operational aspects of working with IT service providers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively explaining technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
