Job description


As a Sr Estimator focused primarily on Building Automation Systems Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and Life Safety Systems (Fire Alarm) here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in our Pre-bid process. This position involves managing the estimation process through collaboration with various stakeholders to understand deliverables, develop competitive project bids. The Senior Estimator ensures that the bid team has the necessary inputs to produce high-quality work that aligns with the organization's objectives and standards.

In the role of Senior Estimator, you will impact the success of our projects by accurately estimating the costs and ensuring competitive bids. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements, review and analyze project plans, and provide guidance and support to project managers and other stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to be part of a high performing team and be a major contributor to our success.
Hybrid 3/2 Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F. You will then be able to move to the hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Must have estimating capability in Building Automation Systems Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and Life Safety Systems (Fire Alarm)
  • Estimation- Input study, generation of RFI's, equipment take-off, preparation of IO summary, front end, field device and any request material selection, preparation of bill of material (BOM), costing
  • Proposals- Studying specifications and arrive at inclusion and exclusion list, technical qualifications/ assumptions/ deviations
  • Technical submittals- Preparation of system architecture, floor risers, schematics, specification compliance etc. as per requirements
  • Learning and using P&E estimating tools like CPQ, SWAT and PlanSwift for estimating
  • Preparing point count and cost/price per square foot along with subcontractor scope that matched scope used for SWAT, to be given to provided prior to estimate reviews
  • Commercial exposure- Vendor management, taxations
  • Contributing and tracking the regional technical preferences on estimations, awareness of the product ranges, ability to apply knowledge and understanding of Honeywell products to develop solutions that meet customer requirements
  • Performing quality checks for the jobs
  • Contribute towards establishing & standardization of new processes for cost optimization & cycle time reduction
  • Sound Knowledge of business processes and systems

Qualifications
Must Have:
  • 5 or more years work experience in relevant field
  • Extensive knowledge of Building Automation Controls design and code compliance Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and Life Safety Systems (Fire Alarm)
  • Ability to manage estimates and/ or projects to standards, budgets
