Job Summary: 

The Utility Sales role is responsible for developing and expanding relationships with current and prospective customers using multiple techniques. These responsibilities will support the development and accomplishment of Packer’s Strategy and Vision while promoting our company Swagger. 

Primary Duties: 

  • Meet key performance indicator (KPI) goals in Sales Revenue, Gross Profit %, Pricing Structure Followed %, Sales Orders, and Quotes. 

  • Participate in Branch L10 meetings and Manager 1-1 Meetings. 

  • Maintain a degree of cleanliness and organization at home branch location. 

  • Assisting in day-to-day operations of branch as needed, including but not limited to front counter Sales, operations functions, quoting, follow-up, order entry, branch procurement, expediting, delivery, and record keeping. 

Based upon the needs of the branch and the guidance of the Branch Manager, Utility Sales will allocate time and focus on any of the following 

Outside Sales 

  • Develops and expands relationships with current and prospective customers using multiple techniques including regular sales calls, cold-calling, industry networking, customer recommendations, etc. to close all available opportunities.  

  • Makes outbound lead phone calls to potential and existing customers to qualify leads and sell product. 

  • Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers. 

  • Identifies revenue and profit growth opportunities. 

Inside Sales 

  • Develops new prospects and maintains contact with established customers for the purpose of selling Company products; primarily interacts with prospects and customers by telephone or other electronic means of communication. 

  • Emphasizes salable products features, quotes prices, and prepares sales orders. 

  • Educates and informs customers of product lines in response to customer questions or objections. 

  • Performs customer service functions. 

VMI 

  • Manage assigned sales route on a recurring schedule. 

  • Manage customer service needs in the event of time off. 

  • Executes PF Vendor Managed Inventory sales process. 

  • Maintains PF Vendor Managed Inventory standards. 

  • Maintains clean VMI Locations (organized inventory/updated labels). 

  • Identifies and pursues revenue and profit growth opportunities with assigned customers. 

  • Looks for ways to streamline daily operations and suggests ways to make customer service more efficient. 

Job Qualifications: 

  • High School education or equivalent. 

  • Exhibits company Swagger. 

  • A strong aptitude for sales and a desire to sell. 

  • Knowledge of product lines and pricing structure. 

  • Basic math skills with the ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to think critically and solve practical problems. 

  • Ability to be a self-starter, handle multiple priorities with high attention to detail, and strong time management skills. 

  • The ability to lift, slide, and lower packages that typically weight 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs. 

  • Proficient in common computer software including Microsoft Office and database software. 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must be able to obtain coverage through company's auto insurance carrier according to company Driver Safety Policy.
