Job description

Job Title:         Supervisor

Client:              Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration:         24 Months (Possibility of Extension/Conversion)
Location:         Horicon, WI 53032
Shift:                1st Shift (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM)

Role Overview

Lead production operations by supervising employees, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve departmental goals in safety, quality, schedule, and efficiency
  • Supervise production, maintenance, and/or warehouse employees
  • Act as liaison between shop floor employees and management
  • Investigate and resolve process, system, and performance issues
  • Monitor performance and take corrective action when needed
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Plan maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
  • Manage departmental budgets and control costs
  • Ensure proper training, tools, and guidance for team members
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Production & Operations Focus

  • Supervise first shift assembly operations
  • Manage workforce planning based on production schedules
  • Monitor control plans and resolve workmanship issues
  • Ensure products meet quality standards
  • Implement and sustain safety and housekeeping programs
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of employees

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, JIT, Kanban, Demand Flow
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Cross-functional experience (manufacturing, operations, supply chain, etc.)

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • 2+ years of team leadership and mentoring experience
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience in a factory environment
  • Project management experience (planning, execution, delivery)
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Pay Plans (CIPP)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Experience in safety, quality, and productivity improvements

Education

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Management, Business, Manufacturing Technology, or Engineering
  • Associate’s degree acceptable
  • High school diploma with relevant experience considered
