Senior Product Line Manager - NBA Apparel (Uniforms)
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Product Line Manager to support the Global Apparel team working across NBA, WNBA, and promotional apparel categories. This role is responsible for leading the creation, strategy, and execution of NBA uniform product lines in partnership with internal cross-functional teams and external league stakeholders.
This is a 6-month contract opportunity supporting two coverage needs (parental leave and sabbatical) within a high-visibility global apparel organization focused on performance and lifestyle basketball products for the NBA and WNBA.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will lead product creation and strategy for NBA uniforms and related apparel collections.
  • Own product management for NBA uniform and apparel creation from concept through execution
  • Develop product strategies grounded in consumer insights, marketplace trends, and athlete needs
  • Partner closely with design teams to build and refine apparel concepts and product direction
  • Manage end-to-end product development timelines, milestones, and key decision gates
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including merchandising, materials, technical development, sourcing, finance, and planning
  • Present product concepts and strategies to internal leadership and external league partners
  • Support engagement with external stakeholders including NBA league offices, teams, and athletes
  • Ensure product execution aligns with business goals, consumer needs, and brand strategy
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, product creation, merchandising, or related consumer product roles
  • Experience managing large-scale apparel or consumer product lines through full lifecycle development
  • Strong ability to partner with design teams and lead cross-functional product creation processes
  • Experience working in highly matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Strong consumer mindset with ability to translate insights into product direction
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently while driving alignment across teams
Skills & Tools
  • Strong proficiency in Excel required
  • Experience with Smartsheet or similar project tracking tools preferred
  • Strong presentation skills using PowerPoint, Keynote, or Miro
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in performance apparel, sportswear, or licensed merchandise strongly preferred
  • Exposure to uniform programs, team sports apparel, or logo-driven product categories a plus
  • Experience working with external partners, athletes, or league organizations highly desirable
  • Prior experience in global consumer product organizations such as Nike is a strong plus
Why This Role
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape NBA uniform and apparel products worn by athletes on the court and embraced by consumers globally. You will operate at the intersection of product strategy, design, and external partnerships, helping bring to life innovative, consumer-driven basketball apparel within one of the most visible sports categories in the world.
