Job Description:

Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

Unit Highlights:

  • The Intensive Care Unit at AdventHealth Minneola is an 8-bed unit that cares for a wide range of high-acuity patients. Our diverse case mix includes renal failure, respiratory failure requiring ventilator management, septic shock with MODS, hypovolemic shock, DKA with severe acidosis, and other complex critical care conditions.

  • Our multidisciplinary Critical Care team includes intensivists, registered nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, case managers, social workers, and chaplains. Nurses are fully engaged and serve as active participants in patient rounds, case reviews, morbidity and mortality/performance improvement reviews, and critical care practice development.

  • We believe in teamwork and collaboration. Our cohesive, multidisciplinary team works together to create an environment where patients and families receive compassionate, comprehensive, whole-person care. Team members are actively involved, supported, and valued as part of this dynamic critical care team.

Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shift: Days, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm (with weekend rotation)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes. 

  • Makes appropriate decisions and implements interventions based on nursing diagnoses according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs.

  • Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care.

  • Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed.

  • Completes timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect.

  • Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department, exhibiting a desire to learn, teach, mentor, and advance nursing skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills [Required]

  • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures [Required]

  • Ability to work as a Team player within a unit [Required]

  • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills [Required]

Education:
