Job description

Company Description Milestones Autism Center provides in-clinic ABA therapy services to families in northern Macomb County, offering structured, evidence-based support for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. The team focuses on individualized treatment plans that promote skill development, independence, and meaningful participation in daily life. Collaboration with families and caregivers is central to the center’s approach, ensuring continuity of care across home, school, and community settings. Milestones Autism Center maintains a professional, supportive environment where clinical staff can grow their skills while positively impacting the lives of clients and their families.

Role Description The Pediatric Occupational Therapist is a full-time(4 day work week), on-site role located at Milestones Autism Center in Washington, MI. This role involves evaluating children and adolescents with autism to identify sensory, motor, and functional needs, and developing individualized treatment plans that complement ABA goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing direct therapy sessions, creating and updating documentation, tracking progress, and adjusting interventions based on clinical observations and data. The Occupational Therapist collaborates closely with behavior analysts, other clinicians, and families to support functional skills such as self-care, play, fine motor coordination, and sensory regulation. The role also includes educating caregivers on home-based strategies, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging clinical environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Occupational Therapy, with experience in assessment and intervention for children and adolescents.
  • Knowledge of Pediatrics and child development, particularly in supporting autistic individuals and neurodiverse populations.
  • Understanding of Rehabilitation principles, including functional skill-building, sensory integration, and motor development.
  • Effective Communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, engaging families, and documenting clinical care.
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist; NBCOT certification preferred.
  • Experience working in clinic-based settings, ideally with ABA or autism-focused programs.
  • Ability to manage a consistent caseload, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
  • Commitment to inclusive, person-centered care and ongoing professional development.
