Job description

Flex Security Officer - $19.75 Per Hour
Class A Commercial Property | Downtown Chicago, IL
Flexible Hours – Tuesday 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, plus additional coverage as needed
This position provides the first opportunity for permanent assignment.

We are seeking a professional Security Officer to join our team at a premier Class A commercial property in downtown Chicago. This is a union position focused on delivering a concierge-level security presence while maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment for tenants, guests, and clients.
This is an entry-level position with a limited, flexible schedule that offers the first opportunity for permanent assignment. The primary shift is Tuesdays from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with additional hours available to support coverage for vacation and personal time-off requests.
This is a high-visibility role ideal for individuals who take pride in professionalism, strong customer service, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a professional and welcoming presence in lobby and common areas
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, and guests
  • Monitor access control systems and manage visitor entry
  • Conduct routine patrols of the property
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, or incidents
  • Respond to situations with professionalism and sound judgment
  • Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports
  • Follow all post orders, policies, and safety procedures
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Prior experience in security, hospitality, or customer service preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to interact confidently with tenants and visitors
  • Comfortable working in a high-visibility, service-driven environment
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills (reports, email, access control systems)
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation and means of communication
  • Must possess or be able to obtain an Illinois PERC card
  • Must pass all pre-employment screenings
Pay amp; Benefits
  • $19.75 per hour (Union position)
  • Benefits provided in accordance with the SEIU Downtown/BOMA Agreement
