Job description

Midland Care Connection

Midland Care Connection is a not-for-profit, community-based organization dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals stay independent and supported in their homes. Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Our mission centers on "meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions," and we serve people across multiple counties in northeast Kansas.

Physician Services

Healthcare practice that provides personalized primary care services for older adults and individuals living in rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and independent living settings. The organization focuses on delivering compassionate, patient-centered medical care directly within residential and long-term care facilities to improve comfort, accessibility, and continuity of care. Their providers specialize in coordinating care with hospice, home health, and rehabilitation teams to support patients with aging-related conditions, chronic illnesses, recovery needs, and dementia care. The group emphasizes individualized treatment plans, collaborative care coordination, and improving quality of life for patients and their families.

Medical Assistant / Medical Scribe

Multifaceted healthcare support position focused on enhancing patient care, provider efficiency, and clinical operations. This role combines direct patient care responsibilities—such as obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, administering treatments, and maintaining exam rooms—with detailed medical documentation and real-time scribing support for physicians and providers. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and technical skills to accurately manage electronic medical records, coordinate provider schedules, support follow-up care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Serving as a key liaison between patients, providers, and healthcare facilities, the Medical Assistant / Medical Scribe plays an essential role in ensuring safe, compassionate, timely, and patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant clinical experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Fast and accurate typing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), browser-based applications, and Microsoft Office or similar software platforms
  • Ability and willingness to travel between clinic or provider locations as needed
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), or equivalent credential preferred
  • One year of experience in medical assisting, medical scribing, transcription, or patient care preferred
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, outpatient clinic, hospice, palliative care, or provider office setting preferred
